"LaFlamme's character, unlikeable as he is, seems to suffer more than even his hideous crime deserves in this torturous attack of the plant world on him. How little did I realize about my intake of food, how the plant life is embeeded in almost everything I eat as well as other facets of my life. I found myself helping this villainous protagonist find places where he could be safe (where in fact I could be safe if this preposterous situation struck me).LaFlamme says he wants to entertain- sort of his writing priority. He writes in short vignettes that I categorize as perfect "almost next in line" readings at the drug store, getting my license renewed, Dr's office, - and even the john. The entertainment value is A+ but I also like the research behind it all. Damned good read..."

"LaFlamme captures the essence of each plant, taking his readers on the adventure of their lifetime. If that isn't great horror writing, I challenge you to show me better."

"LaFlamme has done it again... Just like the Pink Room, Vegetation had me on edge from the first page to the last. ... A man who has murdered his plant loving wife and the plant kingdom is after him for revenge? Now that is genius! ... stunning, vivid, and quite unsettling. Vegetation had my adrenaline pumping and I loved it. Thanks for another good read, Mark LaFlamme!"

"Vegetation is a novel for those of us who can admit that, on some level, we enjoy seeing evildoers suffer... there is much fun to be had."

"...an unusual, enjoyable read, one filled with bizarre and sometimes downright hilarious scenes... LaFlamme continues to prove his talent and skill as a horror writer."

"I enjoyed every page of this book and hated to see it end! Mark LaFlamme has come out as one of the best writers of the year! This book will truly take your breath away and the reader will find that justice is a dish best served with greens."

"...grabs you on the first page and keeps its vine-like hold on you to the end... LaFlamme is a writer whose work we will all be reading a lot more of."

"I loved Vegetation, couldn't put it down. Fast paced, well thought out, I was glued to the book... Stephen King and Dean Koontz rolled into one."

"...LaFlamme creates a terrifying world... It's astonishing how many ways plants found to exact their vengeance."
