"I had the the unique pleasure of reading an advanced copy of this book some time ago and I must say I was blown away. LaFlamme has written some wonderful stories, but this one is set apart as the gleaming, horrific dark jewel that it is. Want to experience real horror? True Horror? Forget the gore, the blood, the mayhem - the TRUE HORROR lies in the mind and the world of an addict. This is not for the squeamish and many may find it difficult to read. But its real, its authentic and while we have seen moments of this kind of horror in LaFlammes other books, he has written this one, this story of Stephen Boone, truly from his gut. He has opened that door a bit more to let us in, and its not pretty. Real fear, real despair does not go by in a series of quick jump cuts and loud sound effects and sweeping music. Its slow, it's drawn out, it feels like it will go on forever in its never ending agony. This is Stephen's world, and the world of many others walking this earth. So come in, the door's open. The meeting has just started, and there is plenty of time as you can see the clock is barely moving.

Read this one slowly...."

"LaFlamme reaches up into his attic and pulls down ghosts, but he digs deep into his heart and produces richly authentic human emotion. It's good. Read it."
